Watercolour is a spiritual form of art in which accidental happenings permeate through the whole process of creation”

We are very honoured to announce a new course with probably the greatest living Chinese watercolor master Liu Yi.Liu Yi is a contemporary artist from China, he employs extraordinary watercolour and sketching techniques in controlling damping of paper and expressing a unique Chinese taste in his artwork. He skillfully “dampens” his artwork by fusing its forms and tones into an organic whole. The misty atmosphere marks his signature style and makes him a true “water whisperer”. He works in Shanghai and has multiple international awards. A translator will help with the language.His workshop will take place in Calella de Palafrugell, a quaint fishing village with a strong character and it includes two excursions to medieval Peratallada and beautiful Girona to paint. Program

Please have a good look at the week’s program.

We have a big studio at the hotel for painting still life, portrait and ballerinas. On the first day there will be still life painting
On Monday we will travel to beautiful medieval Peratallada for a day out to paint.
On Tuesday it’s studio work again with portrait painting.
On Wednesday we travel to Girona, a beautiful modern town with a spectacular historic centre and a beautiful river with houses to paint.
On Thursday we have the opportunity to paint a ballerina in the studio.
Each day Liu Yi will demonstrate in the morning, and then everyone will paint under his help and guidance. There is a translator available all the time.
Liu Yi will do a personalized critique to every person on the last day in the afternoon, and certificates will be issued for course participants, signed by Liu Yi.

Hope you are as excited as myself with this unique program, it’s the second time we have a workshop in Europe with such a recognized Chinese master, a true professional who has devoted his life to art and tuition at Shanghai University.

Transfers from the Airport

We will pick you up at your arrival in Barcelona and take you back for your return. Please check the times for pick up and drop off carefully before you book your flights.

Pick up time on 6^th June: 2.00pm at Barcelona airport, return trip on 12^th June. leaving from Calella at 8.30am, arrival at BCN airport 11.00am. Please book your flights according to these times.
